Summer 2012

I trust that everyone is enjoying the summer so far. It has been great here in Sudbury quite hot but of course the numerous lakes help keep everyone cool!
We are only about a month away from our first game of the 2012-2013 season. We will be playing NCAA D1 Northeastern University in Ottawa on August 21st. We most likely won’t have our full team in attendance for a variety of reasons but we’ll still have a good group of players to jump right into games. A number of players have stayed in Sudbury this offseason to train but we will welcome the rest for a three day training camp in Sudbury before heading off.
Our preseason schedule has been pretty much filled up. A couple of dates to remember. We will again be hosting our Alumni game this year on the evening of October 13th. October 12th will be the Wall of Fame banquet, details for that to follow. Both events are always well attended and this year will be no different. If you are able to make it up the following weekend we are hosting a tournament with three teams from across Canada; Waterloo University, University of Quebec at Montreal and Memorial University. It will be a round robin tournament from Friday to Sunday.
Last but certainly not least. If you have time I would suggest you take a look at this video and vote for one of our Vintageurs Norm Hann. Norm played, I should say dominated, the CIS from 1988-93. He has continued his path of excellence but just in a different form. You can clearly see he still has an enormous competitive drive that always seems to bring him down the right path.
