Ryan makes a quick trip to Ottawa!

Hey guys,

So it was another busy weekend here in the Nations Capital which seems to be the pattern that is occurring this summer. But let’s just say, it’s completely worth it!

On Friday, I was shocked to hear that one of my best buddies Ryan was coming to Ottawa this weekend from Sudbury. I got super excited because I haven’t seen him since school ended in April, and if you live in rez with someone, it is a drastic change when you go from seeing them everyday, to not seeing them at all. He left the Bury at about 1ish and got to my apartment at around 7. As soon as he got there, we took his bags into my place, and then hoped in my car, and drove to the Fatcats (Baseball) game. The game was pretty sweet, as a baseball fan, nothing beats a nice Friday night watching decent baseball under the lights. After the game, we went to the Honest Lawyer in the market which is apparently like a big arcade for adults. It was a pretty sweet night to be honest.

Saturday we woke up, and went for breakfast, then decided to take a miniature road trip to Quebec (basically 10 mins down the road). Ryan wanted to see the casino, so we went there and played the horse races a bit. Now if you have been to the Casino in Gatineau, you know what I am talking about. These horse races are only a quarter, and you bet on which horse you think is going to win. These horses are little toy horses but they do in fact run around a track. It was a good way to kill 20 minutes and 5 dollars haha. After the casino, we tried to find some authentic french poutine, but before we knew it we were lost and made our way back to Ottawa. Saturday night, we went to ANOTHER Fatcats game, and then went out to watch the end of the Kings/Devils game as well has the Heat and Celtics game.

Then on Sunday we woke up, went to the mall thinking it would be open, but apparently stores in the mall do not open until 11 or 12? Neither of us had any idea this was the case, but thankfully Rainbow Cinemas shows 10 am movies, so we went and saw 21 Jump Street for $3. I had already seen the movie, but it was worth it instead of walking around a mall that resembled a ghost town waiting for stores to open. After the mall, Ryan started the drive back to Sudbury, and all we had left were memories from the weekend :P

Hopefully everyone had a safe and fun weekend. Canada Day is just around the corner so make sure you stay tuned for that blog. I guarantee that it will be A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

Blog ya later,
