A Vote For You Is A Vote For Tim Campbell

Hey team!
Long time no blog!

But here it is! And now we have some juicy gossip and some breaking news! As I mentioned in something like my first or second blog, the SGA (Student’s General Association) is the largest student union on campus, and we just had elections! First, on a note with way too much energy I am proud to say I won the election in running for Vice President of Student Issues (the other positions are Vice President of Services and President) ! AHHHHH!

Now, for the politics side of things, and a little bit of advice for you gang: the vote is not valid unless 15% of students vote (we call this “making quorum”) and this year we only had 11.9% vote. Boo! Now it goes to our SGA board, and they decide.

So, not getting hopes too high, but hey, if I do get/keep the VP Issues job, what kind of campaigns do you think I could do to raise awareness about issues, and what kind of fun campaigns would you want to see?

Other than my life being consumed by politics, life here is still turbulent with everything on the go. Now getting into exam mode, I just confirmed my spot in a Passover celebration with LUJSA, the Jewish club on campus. I’m not Jewish and don’t know a whole lot about the culture, but I’m excited to learn and see what it’s all about!

I was so excited when I got to see all the potential frosh on campus last week, we all were in your shoes and all I could think was PLEASE COME TO LU! IT WILL ROCK! But I couldn’t shout that at people (trust me, it didn’t stop me. And if you were the people I screamed at saying to come to LU, sorry haha).
Well now elections are over and these two papers I have to write are just not going to go away. Check out the pic of the election results I posted!

If you give up your right to vote, you give up your right to complain!

Ciao,

T
